Product Description

Slotted Galvanized Steel C Channel Roll Forming Machine

The JACK-AIVA Slotted Galvanized Steel C Channel Roll Forming Machine produces metal framing channels for duct suspension, pipe supports, cable tray supports and mechanical service installations.

Also known as a Galvanized Steel Strut Channel Roll Forming Machine, this production line processes 2.0–2.5 mm soft-quality, annealed galvanized steel. It integrates decoiling, servo-controlled hydraulic punching, roll forming and cutting to manufacture support channels from steel coil.

The machine features 22 forming stations plus a 3-station cassette, a 22 kW main motor and a chain-driven transmission system. The forming shafts are Ø58 mm, while the Cr12MoV forming rollers are hardened to HRC 60–62.

The specified forming speed is 0–6 m/min. Channel dimensions, mounting slot patterns and finished lengths are determined according to the approved product drawing. Hydraulic cutting or saw cutting can be selected as part of the machine configuration.

Production Process

Decoiling → Strip Loop → Servo-Controlled Hydraulic Punching → Strip Loop → Roll Forming → Cutting → Run-Out Table

Steel strip is unwound from the coil and fed into the hydraulic punching section. The specified mounting slots are punched before the material enters the roll forming machine.

Successive roller stations progressively shape the strip into the required C-channel section. The cutting unit separates the formed channel into finished lengths, and the run-out table supports the products for collection.

Strip loops provide material buffering between the processing sections.

Servo-Controlled Hydraulic Punching

The line uses a servo-controlled hydraulic punching system to produce mounting slots before roll forming.

Punching tooling is selected according to the required slot shape, dimensions and spacing. Integrating punching into channel production reduces the need to transfer formed channels to a separate hole-processing operation.

For slotted products, the drawing should specify the slot layout, pitch and end-hole positions. Unpunched channel production can also be considered according to the agreed machine setup and product requirements.

C Channels for Framing and Support Systems

The finished C-shaped channels serve as structural members in metal framing and suspension assemblies. Their open section allows suitable channel nuts, brackets and connecting hardware to be positioned during installation.

Slotted channels provide mounting positions along the channel base, making them suitable for adjustable support arrangements. Typical assemblies include duct trapeze supports, pipe support frames and cable tray supports.

For duct suspension, the channel can act as a crossmember beneath the duct, connected to suitable threaded rods and fixing hardware.

The channel cross-section, material thickness, support spacing and connection details should be selected according to the load requirements of the finished installation.

Machine Configuration

Decoiler

Supports the steel coil and supplies strip to the production line.

Servo-Controlled Hydraulic Punching Unit

Produces mounting slots or holes according to the agreed tooling and punching layout.

Strip Loop Sections

Provide material buffering between decoiling, punching and roll forming.

Main Roll Forming Machine

Features a portal-type A3 steel frame, 22 forming stations plus a 3-station cassette, Ø58 mm shafts and Cr12MoV forming rollers.

Main Drive System

A 22 kW motor drives the forming section through a chain transmission system.

Cutting Unit

Cuts the formed channel to the required length. Hydraulic cutting or saw cutting is selected according to the confirmed production requirements.

Run-Out Table

Supports finished channels after cutting for collection and handling.

Applications

The machine is suitable for producing steel support channels used in:

  • HVAC duct suspension systems.
  • Pipework and conduit supports.
  • Cable tray support assemblies.
  • Trapeze supports for building services.
  • Ceiling support frameworks.
  • General metal framing and mounting structures.

Profile design and load requirements determine the suitability of each finished channel for its intended application.

Why Choose This Machine?

Specified for 2.0–2.5 mm Steel

The machine configuration is designed around thicker galvanized support channels for mechanical and electrical installation applications.

Integrated Slot Production

Servo-controlled hydraulic punching produces the mounting features within the production line, reducing separate processing operations.

22 kW Main Drive

The chain-driven forming section uses a 22 kW main motor with Ø58 mm forming shafts.

Hardened Forming Rollers

Cr12MoV rollers hardened to HRC 60–62 provide wear resistance during repeated channel production.

Choice of Cutting Arrangement

Hydraulic and saw cutting options allow the cutting system to be selected according to the channel section and production requirements.

Drawing-Based Configuration

The channel section, slot layout and finished length are specified around the customer's product requirements.
