Product Description
Duct Support Slotted C Channel Roll Forming Machine
The JACK-AIVA Duct Support Slotted C Channel Roll Forming Machine produces perforated C-shaped support channels from galvanized steel strip. The finished channels are used in HVAC duct suspension systems, pipe supports, cable tray supports and mechanical service installations.
Also known as a Slotted Strut Channel Roll Forming Machine for HVAC Duct Supports, the line combines decoiling, servo-controlled hydraulic punching, roll forming and cutting. Mounting slots are punched into the strip before it passes through the forming stations to create the required channel cross-section.
The specified configuration processes 1.2–1.8 mm soft-quality, annealed galvanized steel, using 18 forming stations and a 7.5 kW main motor. Cr12MoV forming rollers are hardened to HRC 60–62, and the forming speed is adjustable within 0–10 m/min.
Channel dimensions, slot patterns and finished lengths can be specified according to the customer's drawings. Hydraulic cutting or saw cutting can be selected to suit the agreed production requirements.
Production Process
Decoiling → Strip Loop → Servo-Controlled Hydraulic Punching → Strip Loop → Roll Forming → Cutting → Run-Out Table
The decoiler supplies steel strip to the punching section. After the required mounting slots are punched, the strip enters the roll forming machine, where successive roller stations form the C-shaped section. The cutting unit separates the formed channel into the required lengths, and the run-out table supports the finished products.
The strip loops provide material buffering between the processing sections.

The stated speed refers to roll forming speed. Actual finished-channel output depends on the punching pattern, channel length and cutting cycle.
Servo-Controlled Hydraulic Punching
The production line includes a servo-controlled hydraulic punching unit to produce mounting slots before roll forming.
The punching tooling is selected according to the required slot shape, dimensions and pitch. Integrating this operation into the line allows the mounting features to be produced during channel manufacturing, reducing the need for separate drilling or punching afterward.
For quotation and tooling design, customers should provide a drawing showing the slot layout, edge distances and any special hole requirements.
Slotted C Channels for HVAC Duct Supports
Slotted C channels can be used as crossmembers in trapeze supports for rectangular ventilation ducts. When assembled with suitable threaded rods, nuts and connecting hardware, they provide a support arrangement beneath the duct.
The slots allow fixing positions to be adjusted along the channel during installation. This makes the profile useful for coordinating duct supports with site dimensions and service layouts.
In a suitable external support arrangement, the channel supports the duct without requiring the supporting fasteners to penetrate the duct wall.
Channel size, material thickness, support spacing and connecting hardware must be selected according to the installation's load requirements.

Machine Configuration
Decoiler
Holds the steel coil and supplies strip to the production line.
Servo-Controlled Hydraulic Punching Unit
Produces the specified mounting holes or slots before the strip enters the forming section.
Strip Loop Sections
Provide material buffering between decoiling, punching and roll forming.
Main Roll Forming Machine
Uses 18 forming stations to progressively shape the punched strip into the required C-channel profile. The machine features a portal-type A3 steel frame, Ø42 mm forming shafts and hardened Cr12MoV rollers.
Cutting Unit
Cuts the formed channel to the required length. Hydraulic cutting or saw cutting is selected according to the confirmed machine configuration.
Run-Out Table
Supports the finished channels as they leave the cutting section.
Applications
The machine produces slotted support channels for:
- Rectangular HVAC duct suspension.
- Trapeze supports for building services.
- Pipe and conduit support assemblies.
- Cable tray support structures.
- Mechanical equipment mounting frames.
- Customized metal framing and fastening systems.
The finished channel design should match the load and installation requirements of each application.
Why Choose This Machine?
Punching and Forming in One Line
The production sequence combines slot punching, channel forming and cutting, reducing transfers between separate processing machines.
Defined Material Range
The specified configuration is designed for 1.2–1.8 mm soft-quality galvanized steel used in duct support channel production.
18-Station Forming System
Successive forming stages progressively develop the channel section and return lips according to the approved profile drawing.
Hardened Cr12MoV Rollers
The forming rollers are heat-treated to HRC 60–62 for wear resistance during repeated production.
Choice of Cutting Method
Hydraulic cutting and saw cutting options allow the cutting arrangement to be selected for the required profile and production conditions.
Customized Support Profiles
Channel cross-sections, mounting slots and finished lengths can be developed around the customer's support system.
Optional Configuration for Thicker Channels
For projects requiring 2.0–2.5 mm steel, JACK-AIVA can provide a separately specified channel production solution.
This thicker-material option may be considered for applications such as solar mounting and other support structures, subject to the approved profile design and material requirements.
The forming, punching and cutting configuration must be reviewed for the thicker material. The 1.2–1.8 mm machine specification above should not be treated as the confirmed specification for the thicker-channel version.
